My Sheros: Everyday Is Black Women’s Day, So Why Not Celebrate Black Women? Happy Black Women’s Day!!!

Harriet Tubman aka “Black Moses” is my SHERO for leading slaves to their freedom even when they didn’t believe their was hope at the end of the railroad.

Katherine G. Johnson is my SHERO for being the main reason why John Glenn became the 1st man to orbit the earth with the help of Dorothy Vaughn & Mary Jackson having a part in it as well.

Madame CJ Walker is my SHERO for creating beauty products to only further enhance the natural beauty of our black queens.

Maya Angelou is my SHERO for the way she portrayed the black person’s plight with her creative magic through the “POWER of WORDS.”

Afeni Shakur is my SHERO for not only defending herself against the powers that be, who tried to take her freedom away & for raising a prince who became a king in a concrete jungle of life.

Shirley Chisholm is my SHERO for not only going against the odds by becoming the first female primary candidate for a political party, but also being the 1st black person to do so in the process.

Ava Duvernay is my SHERO for overcoming the obstacles of Hollywood and following her dreams in directing great movies as well as shows that depict the black struggle.

Oprah Winfrey is my SHERO for never allowing anyone to tell her that she can’t, couldn’t or wouldn’t achieve the tremendous success she has gained coming from the rural country to become a media mogul maven.

Catherine Flon is my SHERO for sowing the first flag of the 1st successful black slave rebellion in the Western Hemisphere to commemorate the freedom of the Republic of Ayiti.

Ida B. Wells, Angela Davis, Cicely Tyson, Phylicia Rashad,  Coretta Scott King, Whitney Houston, Winnie Mandela, Sojourner Truth, Rosa Parks and many other women who effected the lives of many others around them for the betterment of “BLACK EXCELLENCE” are all my SHEROS.

All single black women are my SHEROS for not only being a woman but black at that, because of the ridicule, turmoil and obstacles y’all face countlessly raising your family, working daily to not only improve the situation of yourself but others around you. You’re never appreciated and I’d like to take the time to tell you that without you: BLACK WOMAN, LIFE would never exist for any of us. I LOVE YOU BLACK WOMEN AND YOU WILL FOREVER BE MY SHEROS!!!
